FAQs

An initial session, generally referred to as an intake, is a time for you and your clinician to review and discuss your current concerns and personal history from birth to now. Your clinician will have some specific questions, but you will also be encouraged to share any information that you feel is important for your clinician to know! The therapist will review important policies regarding cancellation, HIPAA, and confidentiality. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of your clinician to ensure a good fit all around.

Q: What to expect in a first session?

Q: What does a regular session look like?

Each follow up session can vary depending on your therapy goals and clinician’s choice of intervention. The frequency and structure of your sessions should be discussed with your clinician during the first session. If at any time you have questions, concerns, or feedback about your ongoing sessions, we encourage you to discuss this with your provider!

The end of therapy, referred to as termination, can be a bittersweet time. While this often means you have met your goals, it also is a time of transition, which can be hard and scary. Your provider will spend time leading up to termination discussing and planning for this with you. You will have a final session centered around the termination and all the progress you have made during your time in therapy. Clients are able to terminate therapy at any time they wish, as is their right.

Q: How does payment work?

A form of payment will be collected at your initial session and will be charged for your session fee after each session. You will be able to update your form of payment any time you wish.

The self pay rate for a standard hour therapy session is $99. If you are using insurance, the cost of each session will vary based on your specific insurance plan, if you have met your deductible or not, and if our provider is in network with your insurance. If you plan to use insurance, we highly encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to discuss what you may expect to pay.

Q: I’m using insurance to pay for services and my provider is in network, so what is a Deductible and Copay?

Your Deductible is the amount you pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan starts to pay. With a $2,000 deductible, for example, you pay the first $2,000 of covered services yourself. After you pay your deductible, you usually pay only a Copayment. A Copayment, or copay, is A fixed amount ($20, for example) you pay for a covered health care service after you've paid your deductible. The actual amount of your deductible and copay will vary by insurance plan. For more information on your specific plan, please contact your insurance carrier.
